The Quartz of Thought

   I dare say that the Quartz of Thought had the function of a telepathetic transmitter and receiver.
   It was the Witches' firm belief that the Quartz has the power to submit their thoughts and wishes to any person they wanted.
   Either by imagining the person in question or by holding a portrait or photograph of it, they held up the Quartz very near their eye, focusing on the person's depiction and they addressed to it. The person's prismatic picture multiplied hundreds of times as the Witch's fingers slowly moved the Quartz. The Witch kept staring right inside it, focused on her wishes and mentally communicated them to the person in the photograph, repeating the phrases as many times as possible. Here are some examples:

"You don't want to marry Helen, you will not marry Helen, you will break this engagement."
"Send me a message of love. You love me. Send me a message of love. You can't live without me."
"You think of me, you love me, you can't find peace of mind as long as you don't have me, you want no one else in this world but me."
"Feel how much I love you."

Then, they opened their shirts and used a piece of charcoal to draw between their breasts a reversed triangle. They softly pressed the Quartz on it, repeating the words they had spoken out.

The wishes of the Quartz
   This is a Quartz ritual for luck, prosperity and happiness, as the Witches believed its powerful shine brought in their lives all that were good: luck, money, love, marriage, reconnection, fertility, health… The Quartz ritual was performed every full moon.
   Their ancient scripts state that they charged the Quartz at the pale moonlight, lighting seven candles around it. Seven candles for seven wishes, every candle with its own magical meaning: one candle for money, one for love, one for luck and so on. The Witch then held the Quartz hanging from a red piece of string over a cauldron filled with clear water, at the level of the candle flames, slowly spinning it and making it shine, muttering the Wish: "Bestow upon me good and shining fortune, grant me a love of fire and a peaceful marriage, bless me with fertility and happy, healthy children, give me abundance of gold and a life of bliss, may the love I send out come threefold back to me and may I always leave my enemies behind."
