An incensory to ameliorate business
The White Buggh

For the amelioration and the well being of business and trade, as well as for having an ever increasing income, the Witches would take two green candles and two leaves of basil. They would place them on the incensory and underneath it, they would hide a folded piece of paper with the words of the prayer.

You'll need:

  • The White Incensory of Buggh
  • Two scented green candles
  • Dried basil leaves
  • The Psalm of David
You'll add:
  • A fresh piece of basil
  • Incense of your preference
  • Charcoal
To aid your business
You have to place the White Buggh Incensory in your office or workplace, and make sure the folded paper where the Psalm of David is written is underneath it. You place the basil leaves on the Incensory, too, as well as the two green candles. Then, you must light the candles, saying the following words:
"Green is the color of prosperity in business, and the flame which has the power to change the one's fortune, belongs to David, the legendary king. The smoke that rises, carries away all dark and evil luck. May this house of labor be prosperous, may the business go well, may it bring me good money and fortune as bright as David's flame.
I light a fire as bright as I wish for my work to be.
I light a fire as bright as I wish for my work to be."

Then, you must place some incense on the little stone. You may choose between any perfumed stick, or light a piece of charcoal with incense.

The Basil Potion
Basil is a plant that, according to the Witches, symbolized wealth and prosperity. Its power was able to amend one's finances, invite new customers in a workshop, send all negativity away and protect from burglaries. In order to bless a new shop or workplace, the Witches made this potion, which they sprinkled around the place. They strongly believed in its powers over wealth and its protective qualities against theft.
This potion should be made while the moon was waxing - but if it was prepared for a new shop or business, or any new beginning, the procedure had to take place on a new moon. They took either rain water or water from a river flowing, and quite a few basil leaves. Then, they put the water into a new kettle that had never been used before for any other purpose, and boil the basil leaves in it. The water should be boiling for precisely 90 minutes on a low fire.
Those Enlightened among the Witches had a profound knowledge of all the sacred writings and were well aware of the power of the Psalms. Within every Psalm lies a hidden power that the Enlightened ones knew very well how to yield and use. If read correctly, the Psalm of David possesses the power to cast away all negativity from businesses and bring prosperity and good fortune in every job.
The Psalm has to be read aloud three times over the potion, while this was still boiling.
Then, they drained the potion using a clean piece of linen, and kept it inside a new bottle. The leaves should not be thrown away - they should indeed be kept and used as incense. The bottle had to stay out under the starlight and the waxing moon for three nights in a row. Every day, a little before sunbreak, they opened up the bottle for a while and repeated the Psalm. This entire procedure lasted for three days.
Then, they took the potion and sprinkled the four corners of their shop or workplace, the windows and the doors, they smeared the doorknob and the safe and, last but not least, they put a little bit on themselves, too. The same procedure could be done for a household.
The ritual was repeated every Thursday while the moon was waxing, in order for its powers to be renewed and enhanced. The basil leaves were often burned as incense in the place, so as to unfold its magical powers and invite the clientele to stay and spend more money. It would be wise to mention, however, that the Witches believed that, whoever used magic to attract wealth should give a small amount of this money to those less fortunate than himself - otherwise, the luck and the blessing would only last for a couple of lunar circles. This is an obligation stated even in the Psalm which they used.
During wintertime that fresh basil leaves are difficult to find, we use the dried ones - those that we have collected in the summer and boiled them in the rain water while reading the Psalm. We simply have to dip the dried leaves in some water and sprinkle around, reading the Psalm once more.
